      in fact naruto does know that there will be a 4th great ninja war, thats why he has to gather those animals to fight (or so they say, which is a lie to keep him away from the 4th great ninja war since its a turtle in the middle of nowhere). he just doesn’t know that it is going on ALREADY..

      It  says at the beginning that it is before the 4th great ninja war. and this was a special chunin exams to produce more military might for the allied shinobi force.

    Naruto can’t use Sage Mode because it is banned. He can’t use Rasenshuriken because that will create a huge Mess.
    I think he also wont be able to use rasengan on Konohamaru well because after all it’s a ‘A’ rank jutsu and numerous S rank enemies is killed by that jutsu including Paiin. he can’t fight seriously with him in Taijutsu because that will depress Konahamaru and he will lost faith in himself. What can he possibly use against that poor kid.

     To all those people that are saying he should be a chunin by now and all…if u were paying any attention to the OVA at the end they all say he can be a chunin whenever he wants because after all he is the hero of konoha!

    Wow, Naruto was a real idiot for not listening to those rules, but BOY is Konahamaru a bigger idiot for saying something like that to Naruto. “You’re my subordinate” He’d die if Naruto wasn’t his friend. haha

      I totally agree with you. Just like kabuto_haruno said that if Naruto would have used on Konahamaru , then everybody would have ran away from the staduim due to the huge power but I would stay there to pick up Konahamaru’s body parts.If Just Konahamaru was’nt his friend, he would be long dead.

    I don’t understand , I thought naruto was the only who can sage jutsu so why did they ban senjutsu.Is it because it is unfair.

      Because it doesn’t matter if Naruto stays a Chunin for the rest of his life, he’s already surpassed Hokage level and they figrued he would go into Sennin mode so they banned it to let Konohamaru win :)

    u know naruto can still be a chunnin right? even if u lose the first round of the inals if the proctors think your good enough u can still be achunnin, thats what happened to shikimaru afterall, he lost to temari but he was the first chunnin out of irukas class
