It’s just too bad that Sasuke blows off his friends and his home just to reck his own humanity and decency in order to defeat his brother, only to find out that AFTER he did, his brother cared about him the whole time and was ORDERED to wipe out the clan. Poor Sasuke, he killed his brother for nothing and ends up regretting it later.

This is a SPOILER.DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU’RE SURE YOU CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH.

-Itachi killed his family because it was a mission from Danzo(Someone you will see in shippuden)
-Itachi killed them because the uchihas were going to betray the leaf.
-Sasuke’s father wanted Itachi to be in anbu to tell the uchihas info on the leaf village.
-Itachi instead became a double agent and gave the anbu info.
-The uchihas wanted to betray the leaf because they were continuously being watched by the leaf.
-They suspected the uchihas were the ones that attacked the village with the nine-tailed fox 13 years ago.
-Only beacause a long time ago an uchiha called Madara managed to control the 9tailed fox with sharingan during the formation of the village.

Sorry for long post. You will find out i am true later in shippuden. Tobi tells sasuke this.(Tobi is a weirdo from akatsuki)
