       Those dark circles around his eyes are from sleep insomnia from having to keep awake in order to prevent the one tails from taking over his body, he has missed so much sleep that the dark circles are pretty much permanent.

    That is really bad that they cut of suffixes like chan and kun in the dub. For example, Konohamaru and Moegi (a girl from his team) are calling Naruto “Naruto nii chan” and this will probably be translated as just “Naruto” or “big brother Naruto” (the last one is kanda wierd =_= ).

      I would not say it is bad at all. Chan/Kun are very innate to Japanese culture and so just ham-fisting them into the dub for the sake of a few fanboys, not only defeats the purpose of a dub, but also shows a lack of respect to the meaning of these words. In Japanese Chan/Kun and San…etc show different forms/levels of respect and effection. English has its own way of expressing these things and the English dub out of respect to the Japanese language and respect for its own language, should use them. The fact is, if you wish to hear the Japanese expressions, watch the original Japanese one. (I realise there are certain Anime’s where this general rule does not apply, but Naruto is not one of them.)

        Well, I agree that it is proper not to mix languages. It is as you said. But still, the fact is that this part of Japanese is almost untranslatable and so it is often being lost in the dub. I myself like English dub better than original, but well, maybe I change my mind once I learn Japanese :D

           Do you know how retarded that would sound in english? Every time they’d speak to Naruto “Heyy Naruto Chan!!!” It adds unnecessary dialogue that only has meaning when using it in the Japanese language.

          There are animes where they use some of the suffixes even in a dub version. And, you know, I would have much more motivation discussing things with you if your name was a bit nicer =)

      No, I assume that he’s a village elder and was pressuring her at some point to get married or she has been trying to find someone to marry, but no one wants to marry her. I don’t really know though.
