      I think they determine that based off maturity and intelligence. They passed Shikamaru because, while he’s piss poor at fighting, he’s loyal and has a high IQ and doesn’t run around posing as naked women with big boobs.

      I can’t stand people like you. “Not a real person this” and “a cartoon character that”. Anime like this are made to stir REAL emotion within people who watch them. They’re just like the dramas you see on “real” TV. Those actors are “real” people, but seeing as REAL people don’t have super awesome powers, we rely on anime to add to that. So what if you can’t physically touch them? If you can laugh and cry and hate when you watch a “real” movie or a “real” tv show, then you can do the same with cartoon characters who show REAL emotion. Stfu and go crawl back under the rock you came from.

      Anyone can get to Mount Myoboku. It just takes a month in regular time… but yeah, he would be safer there, but the Akatsuki can still get there.. and Zetsu seems to be able to go pretty much anywhere he wants in seconds.

    I was pretty pissed at Sakura for not being sure who to save, but that part is actually not in the manga at all, so it can pretty much be ignored. Apparently the anime writers aren’t fans of Sakura lol
