  He somehow knew how to break the Jutsu and stay animated as well as not be force ably dismissed by undoing the summoning contract.

  It was explain in the manga.. Concerning the risk of edo tensie.. if you summon someone who knows how to use edo tensie. he can release himself from the justsu.. allowing him to move freely and not being control by the user.. so now madara have an immortal body and unlimited chakra..

You know in anime they tell things that in manga were never told and create wrong conclusions. In manga naruto never told in the end end all that about Kurama watching over him. Here they made it to look like Kurama cares for Naruto but before this conversation Kurama was only intersted in naruto for his own survival. After, this conversation he’s starting changing his mind. It’s not like that he was takeing care of him.
