It’s very important to study and educate.What do you think, how are you going to find a decent job?I decided to study Chinese and speak it perfectly, because I like it, I like hard challenges and I like history and traveling.We have a Chinese competition every year(it’s not for 1st grade of high school, and I am first).Do you know what the reward is?A travel to China for a month and study there at Chinese university!!!That’s my life dram, and I want to be a translator.But, to be someone you want, you need to be good student(or pupil, whatever) and to have good grades from all other subjects and to know all other things, even if you hate it.For example, I like languages, and is the main thing in our gymnasium, BUT we’ve got math, physics and chemistry for 2 years, even if we ALL HATE IT!!!(but some of them like chemistry or math).How are we translators supposed to translate some terms, like electric field, or metals and who was Newton…We have those subjects for 2 years and then we get new subject like:translating Chinese,philosophy,rhetoric,psychology,sociology… All subjects that future language professionals have to know.Even if I hate the
physics and math, I was the best pupil in primary school.I got the title ”the best pupil of generation”.I had As from every subject. You can’t go to that school,if you don’t have good grades from all other subjects!That’s the point!I worked so hard so that I can do something I like, and then you get rid of something you don’t like.Is it a good felling when you know something and when teacher is satisfied and doesn’t
criticize you? Have you watched a movie ”Sisters act”?If you haven’t, do it.An actress who is acting in that film says:”If you wanna be somebody, If you wanna go somewhere, you’ve gotta wake up and pay attention!”(that is ”Sisters act 2″)

We’re studying all subject that are necessary for language professionals:(we are going to high school for 4 years, so there are 4 grades, and we don’t study all these subject in the 1st grade)
Serbian language(grammar, it’s our mother tongue, all 4 years), Literature,(all 4 years) Introduction to General Linguistics,(only the 4th grade) From translation(in my case, it’s Chinese,only the 3rd grade), Rhetoric and Oratory(only 4th grade), Psychology(only 3rd grade), Logic(only 3rd grade),Philosophy (only 4th grade), Sociology (only 4th grade)
Other subjects:Constitutionality and civil rights(only 3rd grade), Musical culture(all 4 years),Fine arts(all 4 years),Physical Education(all 4 years),History(all 4 years),Geography(the 1st and the 2nd grade),Biology(2nd and 3rd grade),Physics(1st and 2nd grade),Chemistry(1st and 2nd grade),Mathematics(1st and 2nd grade),Computing and Informatics(all 4 years),Religious Education / civics(all 4 years)
And now, the most important thing:one generation has 7 departments.One department always has 24 students.Every department has it own name:
I-1 – English department, I-2 – French department, I-3 – Russian department, I-4 – German department, I-5 – Latin department, I-6 – Spanish and Italian department(12 of them learn Spanish and the other 12 learn Italian) and I-7 – Chinese – Japanese department(the same as with I-6)-that’s my department.

It’s important because when you tell your department name, that means you have that language every single day (I-1 has English every day, I-3 has Russian, I-7 has Chinese and Japanese every day…).That is our FIRST language(we have it every day).The second language is English for all departments(except for English department, whose second language cam be Russian, French or German).And the 3rd language is Latin for all departments.
So, I learn as a first language Chinese(every day), second is English(3 times a week) and Latin (2 times a week)
And no, I don’t study too much.I do it for an hour or two, as much as I need…:D

This is a special school,for talents.There is also Mathematical Gymnasium.These high schools ate the best in our country and recognized in the world.

Yes,we are learning all those languages because it’s a school for that!And thanks! ♥
