I feel really sorry for Shikamaru.
All those emotions he had bottle up all this time and, he didn’t let them out. Probably, because he didn’t know how. Part of it was probably because, he had too much pride and, did wish to show his emotions. But, after Asuma’s death, It was inevitable for him to let those bottle up emotions go.
To me, this is one of the best episodes of the entire Naruto series. Showing a character’s emotions as such. Makes it an episode to remember.

Hey guys didnt u ever noticed dat they basically told u wat was going to happen based on the opening theme. I mean in the beginning when its going pass all the people and it gets to shikamaru standing in those field of flowers that look awfully similar to the ones that asuma gave kuranai and then when shikamaru, ino, and choji are lined up standing besides the third’s mountain statue nd lastly when shikamaru was running at the end with that same look on his face when asuma was stabbed. Still really sad tho. Im gonna miss asuma
