  I think because when usung the fire ball jutsu, your not blowing fire out of your mouth, i think your blowing out chakra that turns into fire when exhailed. So his mask didn’t burn off because the fire started after it exited the mouth.

    Yeah but when he breaths out the mask would prevent the breath becoming a continual stream and make it disperse around his mouth and face which would burn his mask off. Thankfully its just a cartoon though.
