  That’s what I thought originally but aren’t the sannin from the leaf? Sasuke is a rogue ninja now, and besides Orochimaru was made a sannin BEFORE he left the leaf village. They will probably have a similar title though. I dunno, just a thought.

    Someone has to DUB them sannin, like hanzo of the salamander dubbed jiraiya tsunade and orochimaru. So someone such as a hokage, has to dub or christen them as sannins. its like a king dubbing someone as a knight.

  The third gave Naruto his mothers last name (Kushina Uzumaki) so that people wouldn’t know that Naruto is the Fourth’s (Minato Namikaze) son. He did this to prevent Naruto from getting abducted and held for ransom and stuff along the lines of that.
