      Actually he is probably dead he has been in the hole for a long time. Hidan can die just not from battle. If he doesn’t get food, water, ect Kishimoto even said so. The hole is also in The nara’s forest so no one could get his dna without alerting the Nara’s so they could stop them. They could have tried when the war started but now Kabuto has been stopped.

       Well that don’t really mean it ain’t him either for all we know maybe Madara learned a forbidden possession jujitsu or something. He could be half dead and half alive living inside another body that his spirit came across i.e. Obito’s, don’t take my word on that tho that’s just something that could have happened. And that would also allow his dead body to be resurrected as well.
