  He wants to attack the leaf because of the pain they caused Itachi. If he hadnt killed all of the Uchiha there probably would have been some compromises between the leaf and Uchiha allowing them to live in peace. Itachi would have lived a regular shinobi life and maybe he would even be good friends with Naruto if this had not happened.

did you know that the song in the intro is called sign by a band called FLOW and did you also know that only 550,000 people bought the song before it was in the intro for naruto, the thing is, after the song was put in to the intro for naruto shippuden, the amount of people who bought the song went from 1,550,000 to 9.7 million people within 3 weeks, so for anyone who does not like the song for the intro, you are but a few (thousand out of millions) who do not like the song.

itachi killing the uvhiha clan was actually a mission from the third hokage, because the uchiha clan was getting stronger and were going to take over the leaf village. itachi was going to make a decsion either he join them or against them but then he had to leave. so he went and joined the akatsuki. however he failed on his mission because he couldnt handle killing his brother, so he left him a live. Itachi will always be my favourite. and he was always good and calm. thank you

He asked the 3rd to keep his brother alive and the 3rd agreed to keep sasuke alive. Thats why Sasuke still lives. Itachi completed his mission.

      Anbu had 2 divisions 1 under the control of the hokage and the other (root or foundation) division was under the control of danzo and itachi was in the root division …………u my friend should watch naruto shippuden again
