The ANBU so far have been very dissapointing, having a very high reputation that they’ve failed to live up to at nearly every occasion. This of course is because since they are supposed to conceal their identities, they can’t have names and unnamed characters are always, as a basic rule, utterly incompetent.

So now that we have an ANBU with an actual identity, it’ll be interesting to see if he fares any better than his unnamed colleagues.
