    They’re talking about her role in the series, which in this arc is to get caught so Shikamaru can save her, knocked out so Kakashi can save her or stand around talking so nobody can say she’s not doing anything.
    
    Even if all that happened was her actively dodge and evade attacks, that at least would show that when the enemy target medical ninja, she knows better than to stay and fight. As it is, she might as well be entirely offscreen during the entire battle.

  Ino-Shika-Cho is a team, and since Shikamaru is missing…the team is out of order. Shikamaru play’s a big part in Ino’s attack because in order for Ino to use her “mind transfer justu” Shikamaru would have to be there to catch Kazuki with his shadow possession justu. Because if Ino’s justu misses then her soul will be out of her body for about 30-60 seconds leaving her open to an attack. See? So yea, she’s pretty useless, but so is Choji.
