        I think the tone of his skin and his figure is to reflect upon his Jutsu. All his drawings are ink. Black and white. His skin is pretty much white and his clothes are black. Sai is also translated to PAINT in Japanese.

        Shikamaru’s shadow stitching and shadow shuriken, as well as shadow gathering (throwing physical kunai with his shadows), Neji’s air palm, Ino’s mind destruction. Choji’s giant’s slap or whatever it’s called, people have learnt new jutsu!
        And by “bunch of new jutsu” for Naruto, do you mean another type of rasengan (that he’s not even allowed to use)? And he even learned that AFTER the three years of training.
        If anything, it’s Sasuke that learnt the most in the time period.
